Russia, Ukraine Agree To Ceasefire In Humanitarian Areas

The president of Russia,Vladimir Putin has given Ukraine two conditions for the ongoing unrest to come to an end.

Russia demanded that Ukraine give up three regions and scrap its Army, Mirror reports.

The Kremlin wants Ukraine “demilitarised” and demanded that Donetsk and Lugansk become independent states.

The three regions demanded have experience battles between Russia and Ukraine for the past eight years.

Putin also demanded that Ukraine recognize Crimea as part of Russia.

A spokesperson for the Russian government listed the conditions ahead of today’s peace talks.

Meanwhile, the former President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, on Sunday reacted to Russia’s invasion of its neighbouring country, Ukraine.

Zuma in a statement released by his foundation described the US and its allies as ‘bullies’.

The former president further stated that the US and its western allies are using Ukraine as a means to bring Russia to its knees through unjustifiable sanctions.

Zuma who is currently standing trial for corruption charges in his country said Russia invaded Ukraine to protect itself from NATO expansion. Read more
